Strange Weather Strikes Sanford

April 20, 2008, Sanford, NC was graced with a sense of awe as hail battered our homes, new spring plantings, our cars, and us. It felt especially odd since in North Carolina April is normally a generally warm month, flowers are in bloom, rains are warm and occasionally stormy, but hail! It fell rapidly in penny-sized balls of vicious white anger. God? Some would say so. A result of global warming? Who knows! It was quite striking and thought provoking.

Note the Dogwood in full bloom.

It fell quickly. This was the start.

I took an additional picture of this hailstorm. Look it up on the "Interests" Page. It could have been a camera glare. But you tell me what you see. I will make no suggestion.

Notice the watermelon sprouts growing in the window
